Platinum, Diamond, Emerald, and Onyx Bracelet
One platinum (stamped platinum; no trademark) diamond, emerald, and onyx bracelet that weighs 43.02 grams and measures 7 1/8 inches long. The bracelet features one hundred sixty-eight old European cut diamonds of G to J color, VS1 to 11 clarity, and weigh approximately 0.02 carat each (1.7 mm) for an estimated total weight of 3.36
carat. The bracelet also features seventy French cut vivid green emeralds (World of Color 5G T5/SI2) that weigh approximately 0.05 carat each ( 2 x 2 mm) for an estimated total weight of 3.50 carat. The bracelet is also adorned with one hundred eighty-two French cut black onyx measuring 2 x 2 mm each.
The diamonds, emeralds, and onyx are channel set with milgrain. The onyx French cuts snake back-and-forth across the 0.4 inch wide bracelet in a box-like geometric pattern. The emeralds are centered in a straight line down the bracelet, appearing to weave over and under the onyx channels. Old European cut diamonds fill in all other spaces. The bracelet features an 18k yellow gold (instrument tested) hidden box clasp with a fold-over safety hinge. When the bracelet is clasped, the pattern is continuous.
The bracelet is hand manufactured. Condition is very good (at least two diamonds, two emeralds, and four onyx are chipped. At least least two emeralds and eight onyx are abraded. Appraised as whole); craftsmanship is very good. Circa 1920.*
