18k Moostone and Tahitian Pearl Brooch
One 18k yellow gold (stamped 18k; Tradeamarl< "L with line across the straight line) moonstone and Tahitian pearl brooch that weighs 30.25 grams and measures approximately a 2.25 inch square. Embellishing the center is a round, carved, cabochon grey moonstone that weighs approximately 15.75 carats (19.0 - 19.0 x 6.50 mm; length and width are estimated). Extending off the of the center are four cultured, pear shaped, circle, Tahitian pearls, ringed, 10.0 - 10.5 mm, grey body color, green/blue/purple overtone, good luster, moderately blemished, medium nacre thickness, assumed drilled halfway and secured with epoxy.
The hand fabricated, cast and assembled cruciform style brooch secures the moonstone in a full, eight ray sun design. The pearls are secured with post/pad, epoxy and 7.0 mm cups with twisted wire accents. The piece has a hammered finish. Condition is excellent; craftsmanship is excellent. Replacement would be of like kind.
