14k White Gold Diamond and Black Onyx Art Deco Drop Earring
One pair platinum, 14k white gold (instrument tested; no trademark), diamond and black onyx drop earrings that weigh 12.51 grams. Featured are three each, six total, black onyx pieces. The top piece is cabochon cut, pie shape and the other two are truncated papabolic shapes of 6.80 and 6.30 mm wide. Accenting the earrings are fifty-nine each, one-hundered-eighteen total old European cut diamonds of D - J color, VS - 11 clarity, that vary in weight from approximately 0.0025 to 0.05 carat each (0.085 to 2.35 mm) for a total estimated weight of 0.59 carats. Surrounding the bottom of the drop are nine each, eighteen total, single cut diamonds of D - J color, VS - SI clarity,
that weigh approximately 0.0025 carat each (0.090 mm) for a total estimated weight of 0.045 carats.
The hand fabricated and assembled, articulating, Deco drop earrings secure the top black onyx with epoxy, the five top diamonds in full bezel crowns, the cap diamonds with four beads each. The surrounding three lines of diamonds are set with shared beads. The three lines circle top, middle and bottom of the black onyx beads (assumed to be fixed on a single wire that ends in yellow gold at the very bottom tip). The notched, post is secured with a hinged, lever back of yellow gold. Condition is very good ,craftsmanship is excellent.
